A beautiful temporary new home

March 4, 2024 LAMB began a new and extemely exciting partnership with Morningside University that will temporarily bring Lamb Theatre productions to the stage at Morningside’s Klinger-Neal Theatre, 3700 Peters Ave. Classes from the Lamb School also transitioned to the Morningside campus.

Russell Wooley, managing artistic director of Lamb Theatre, said the decision to move all activities to Morningside University was a direct result of the deteriorating condition of the current building.

“We’ve been producing quality, live theatrical entertainment in Siouxland for 44 years. The old Webster School at 417 Market Street has served us well for 38 of those years,” Wooley said, “but that building is no longer sustainable as a venue for our productions and Lamb School classes. We are grateful to Morningside for their excitement and flexibility surrounding this partnership.” He explained that moving Lamb Theatre to Morningside University will allow Lamb to keep producing theatre as it continues to pursue options for a transition to a completely new home for the nonprofit theatre company.

Morningside University Associate Professor of Theatre Taylor Clemens expressed his excitement about the partnership. “Lamb and Morningside both have great traditions in theatre education in our community. This is such a natural coming together of these two great programs,” he said. “Lamb is so much more than just a building,” he continued, “it’s an important staple of the entertainment and education community, and we’re happy to be able to be a small part of Lamb’s future in Siouxland.”

Our fundraising efforts have taken on even more urgency as we look to the future. We are grateful for the kindness, generosity and flexibility of Morningside University to enable LAMB to continue our mission
